In Module 2 you were introduced to the Kumu mapping software. For this exercise we will identify and map out the relationship between SDG targets related to a real-life case study.

The case study can be found here: https://sdghelpdesk.unescap.org/technical-assistance/best-practices/green-growth-zero-baht-shop

1) Check out this short video to get you started with Kumu and the exercise: https://bit.ly/2SctrCh

2) Start mapping the system diagram ( See Guideline at https://docs.kumu.io/ )

3) Share the link of the map while you develop it. When the map is finalized, add a description of the map. Please reveal the strengths and gaps, if any, existing in the relative national institutional framework in achieving that particular target.

Hi Steven, the link in post #6 worked best to look into your analysis of the Zero Baht Shop case study. Could you describe what do you see are the most crucial interlinkages, or leverage points? What type of policy targeting key leverage points would have the greatest positive impact on the related SDG targets?

Good morning, I see as the most crucial interlinkages goal 1- no poverty, goal 8 - decent work, goal 1.5 - resilience of the poor, 11.6 - urban waste management and 8.5 - decent work for all. I believe that for goal 8 and 8.5 policies geared towards assisting the poor to set up micro-enterprises, because decent work is also about self-employment, but an enabling environment must be created to stimulate persons to become micro-entrepreneurs. With respect to 11.6, policies that enabling the collection of waste by micro-entrepreneurs and policies that stimulate recycling and reusing will benefit the activities. Goal 1.5 can be boosted by policies that are geared towards helping the poor to become more self-sufficient, for example in combination with goal 8 by having a small grants programme to boost micro-entrepreneurship.
